파월 “인플레 둔화”…뉴욕 증시도 상승

(게티이미지뱅크)뉴욕 증시가 파월 미국 연방준비제도(Fed·연준) 의장의 비둘기파 발언에 일제히 상승했다.테슬라는 10% 넘게 급등했다.

테슬라 주가 급증에는 테슬라 실적 발표 보고서와 연준 금리 인하 기대감이 영향을 미쳤다.

테슬라는 2분기 예상치를 웃도는 차량 인도 실적을 기록했다.CNBC에 따르면 테슬라는 올해 4~6월 41만831대를 생산하고 44만3956대를 인도했다고 발표했다.

2분기 인도량은 월가 추정치(43만8019대)를 넘어섰고 1분기(38만6810대)보다 14.8% 늘어난 수치다.

발표 후 테슬라 주가는 8.8% 급등해 주당 228.29달러 수준에서 거래됐다.2분기 실적 발표는 오는 7월 23일 예정돼 있다.

연준 의장의 금리 인하 기대로 인한 뉴욕 증시 상승 역시 테슬라 주가 상승을 도왔다.

파월 의장의 비둘기파적 발언 이후 스탠더드앤드푸어스(S&P)500지수와 나스닥종합지수는 각각 5500선과 1만8000선 위에서 마감했다.

파월 의장은 포르투갈 신트라에서 열린 유럽중앙은행(ECB) 포럼에서 “최신 지표와 그 앞선 지표는 우리가 디스인플레이션 경로로 돌아가고 있음을 어느 정도 시사한다”며 “우리는 인플레이션을 우리의 목표치를 향해 되돌리는 데 상당한 진전을 이뤄냈다”고 발표했다.

파월 의장의 발언은 최근 물가 지표가 잇따라 둔화 신호를 보인 것에서 시작됐다.5월 물가 지표가 물가 안정 흐름을 보이면서 연준 인사들은 비둘기파적 발언을 이어가는 중이다.

다만 파월 의장은 금리 인하 시기에 대한 확답은 피했다.그는 9월 금리 인하 가능성에 대해 “구체적인 날짜를 언급하지는 않을 것”이라면서도 “금리 인하를 너무 서두르거나 미루지 않으면서 경제 균형을 유지하겠다”고 말했다.

테슬라는 파월 의장 발표 이후 전장 대비 10.20% 오른 231.26달러로 장을 마감했다.

테슬라를 포함한 S&P500지수는 전장보다 33.92포인트(0.62%) 상승한 5509.01로 마감했다.나스닥지수도 전장보다 149.46포인트(0.84%) 오른 1만8028.76에 장을 마쳤다.
