게임물관리위원회가 확률형 아이템 정보공개를 의무화한 지 100일 동안 총 266건의 위반 사항을 적발한 것으로 나타났다.위반 사항 중 '확률 미표기'가 절반 이상을 차지했다.

게임위는 3일 서울 중구 CKL 기업지원센터에서 간담회를 열고 "총 1255건을 모니터링해 266건에 대해 시정요청을 진행했고,호주 대 덴마크이 중 185건의 시정이 완료됐다"고 밝혔다.

시정요청 대상 게임물 사업자 중 국외 사업자가 전체의 60%를,호주 대 덴마크국내 사업자는 40%를 차지했다.

위반 사항 중에서는 '확률 미표기'가 59%로 절반 이상이었다.이어 광고 내 확률형 아이템 유무 미표기 29%,호주 대 덴마크표시 방법 위반 12% 순이었다.

개정 게임산업법은 지난 3월 22일 시행됐다.게임사가 확률형 아이템 정보를 의무적으로 게임 내부와 홈페이지,광고물 등에 공개하도록 하는 내용을 골자로 한다.

게임위는 자율지원본부 산하에 게임정보관리팀을 신설해 모니터링을 맡아왔다.게임 사업자의 정보공개 의무 위반이 적발되면 게임위가 1차로 시정요청을 하고,호주 대 덴마크문화체육관광부가 2·3차로 시정 권고·시정명령을 내린다.

게임위는 시정 권고 단계까지 진행된 해외 게임물 5건의 경우,호주 대 덴마크시정명령까지 불이행할 시 국내 유통을 제한하겠다는 입장이다.

현재 개정 게임산업법은 시정명령을 이행하지 않은 게임사에 대해 형사 처벌 조항까지 두고 있다.다만 현행법상 국내에 법인이 없는 해외 게임사에 확률정보 공개를 강제할 방법은 마땅치 않은 상황이다.

이에 게임위는 구글과 애플 등 자체 등급 분류 사업자의 협조를 구해 미준수 게임물의 국내 유통을 차단하겠다는 방침이다.
