[헤럴드경제=김우영 기자] 서울시는 지하철 8호선 연장 구간의 시운전을 안전하게 완료해 다음달 10일 개통한다고 11일 밝혔다.

8호선은 이에 따라 경기 남양주 경춘선 별내역까지 이어진다.

영업시운전 종료에 따라 개통을 위한 종합보고와 안전관리 체계 변경 승인 등 행정 처리 절차만 남겨둔 상태다.

지하철 8호선은 연장선이 개통되면 전체 30.6㎞,프로토승부식52회차24개 정거장이 운영된다.

기존 도시철도를 이용하면 잠실역에서 별내역까지 약 44분이 걸렸지만,프로토승부식52회차별내선 개통으로 잠실역에서 별내역까지 27분 만에 이동할 수 있게 된다.

또 2·3·5·9호선,수인분당선,경의중앙선,경춘선과 환승할 수 있어 다산·별내 등 수도권 동북부 신도시에서 서울로의 접근성이 획기적으로 개선된다.

시는 지하철 8호선을 별내역까지 연장 운행하기 위해 전동차 9편성(편성당 6칸)을 추가 투입한다.

전동차는 출퇴근 시 4.5분,평상시 8분 간격,최고속도 시속 80㎞로 운행된다.

또 시는 별내선 구간 중 유일하게 서울에 있는 암사역사공원역을 암사동 선사유적지의 이미지를 담아 디자인하고,빗살무늬토기를 주제로 한 오경선 작가의 작품으로 문화전시 공간을 조성했다.

여자 화장실 입구에는 전국 최초로 인공지능(AI)이 성별을 식별해 여성을 보호하는 방범 시스템을 설치했다.

최진석 서울시 도시기반시설본부장은 "개통을 위한 마지막 점검 단계인 영업시운전을 안전하게 마쳤다"며 "시민의 안전을 최우선으로,프로토승부식52회차안전하게 개통될 수 있도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
