(서울=뉴스1) 이동희 기자 = 현대차(005380)그룹이 영국 옥스포드 대학과 그룹의 장기적인 미래 비전 수립을 위해 전문 연구센터를 설립한다.

현대차그룹은 지난 8일(현지시간) 옥스포드 대학과 영국 옥스포드 컨보케이션 하우스에서 '옥스포드-현대차그룹 미래연구센터'(Oxford-Hyundai Motor Group Foresight Centre) 개소식을 개최했다고 9일 밝혔다.

현대차그룹은 미래연구센터를 통해 미래 지정학적 변화와 위험 요인에 선제적으로 대응하기 위한 핵심 의제를 도출하고,인류의 진보를 위한 혁신적이고 독창적인 연구로 바람직한 미래를 실현할 수 있는 경쟁력을 확보할 예정이다.이를 통해 미래 모빌리티 산업에서도 선도적 역할을 이어갈 계획이다.

미래연구센터장에는 미래 시나리오 플래닝 연구 분야의 세계적 권위자인 라파엘 라미레즈 옥스포드 대학 교수,세계경제포럼 전략 예측 프로그램과 경제협력개발기구(OECD) 사무총장실 미래전략 고문을 거친 트루디 랭 옥스포드 대학 교수가 위촉됐다.

HMG경영연구원장인 김견 부사장은 "미래연구센터가 조직 내에 미래를 다각적으로 바라보고 재구성하는 능력(Future Literacy)을 배양하는 데 크게 기여할 것"이라고 말했다.김흥수 글로벌전략실(GSO) 본부장(부사장)은 "현대차그룹은 인류의 더 나은 미래를 위해 글로벌 커뮤니티가 지향해야 할 미래 방향성을 적극 제시할 것"이라고 말했다.
