(서울=연합뉴스) 나확진 기자 = 유한양행은 희귀 유전질환인 고셔병 치료제로 개발 중인 신약 'YH35995'의 임상 1상 시험계획을 식품의약품안전처로부터 승인받았다고 1일 밝혔다.

유한양행은 이번 1상에서 건강한 성인 남성에게 해당 신약을 투여한 후 안전성과 내약성(환자가 부작용을 견뎌낼 수 있는 정도),약동학(약물의 흡수·분포·대사 등) 및 약력학(약의 농도에 따른 효과) 등을 평가할 계획이다.

고셔병은 유전적 돌연변이 영향으로 인한 특정 효소 결핍으로 생기는 리소좀 축적 질환(LSD)의 하나다.

임상적으로 3가지 형태가 있는데 1형은 주로 뼈,간,비장 등에 불필요한 물질이 축적돼 골절,스루루출혈 경향,스루루빈혈 및 종양 발생의 위험도가 증가하는 형태이고,스루루2형과 3형은 이에 더해 경련이나 신경학적 퇴행 등의 신경 증상이 급성·만성적으로 동반한다.

YH35995는 유한양행이 2018년 GC녹십자로부터 기술 도입해 먹는 약으로 개발 중이며,동물에서 높은 혈액뇌장벽(BBB) 투과율을 보이는 등 전임상시험에서는 우수한 유효성과 안정성을 확인했다고 유한양행은 전했다.

김열홍 유한양행 R&D(연구개발) 총괄 사장은 "유한양행 연구소에서 선도물질 도출과 최적화 및 전임상 개발에 수년간 집중한 결과,임상 개발 단계로 진입할 수 있게 됐다"며 "유한양행이 개발하는 첫 희귀질환 치료제라는 점에서 그 의미가 크다"라고 밝혔다.
