17일(현지시간) 뉴욕증권거래소(NYSE)에서 스탠더드앤드푸어스(S&P)500 지수는 전장보다 41.63포인트(0.77%) 오른 5473.23에 거래를 마쳤다.

S&P500 지수가 최고가 기록을 경신한 것은 올해 들어서만 이번이 30번째다.

기술주 중심의 나스닥 지수는 전장보다 168.14포인트(0.95%) 상승한 17857.02에 장을 마쳤다.다우존스30 산업평균지수는 전장보다 188.94포인트(0.49%) 오른 38778.10에 마감하며 4거래일 연속 하락 행진을 멈추고 반등했다.

이날도 대형 기술주들이 지수 상승을 주도했다.애플이 1.97% 올랐고,마이크로소프트(MS)는 1.31% 상승했다.알파벳(0.25%),아마존(0.22%),메타플랫폼(0.49%) 등 다른 빅테크 주가도 강세로 마감했다.

다만 장중 사상 최고가를 경신했던 엔비디아는 장 마감을 앞두고 하락 반전,한국야마자키마작 두광기계 부산사업소전장 대비 0.68% 하락 마감했다.

월가에서는 미국 경제와 기업 실적에 대한 긍정적인 전망을 반영해 미 주가지수 전망을 줄줄이 상향 조정하고 있다.

골드만삭스는 S&P500의 연말 목표를 지난 2월에 예측했던 5200에서 5600으로 조정했고,투자자문사 에버코어는 S&P500의 연말 목표를 6000으로 대폭 높였다.

골드만삭스는 투자노트에서 "랠리의 원동력으로는 2024년 컨센서스 실적 추정치를 상향 조정한 점과 인공지능(AI)에 대한 투자자의 열정 증가에 따른 밸류에이션 확대 등이 있다"고 설명했다.

다만 뉴욕증시가 기술주를 중심으로 7주 연속 숨 가쁜 상승세를 이어가면서 시장에선 조만간 증시 조정에 국면할 수 있다는 우려 역시 존재한다.

투자회사 에드워드 존스의 모나 마하잔 수석 투자전략가는 "전반적으로 기초여건과 시장환경은 여전히 강세를 지지하고 있다"면서도 "그 과정에서 조정이 있을 것으로 예상한다"라고 말했다.

한편 전일 코스피 지수는 외국인과 기관의 동반 매도에 5거래일 만에 하락해 전장 대비 0.52% 내린 2758.42에 마감했다.

시가총액 상위 종목 중에서는 인도법인 상장 소식에 급등한 현대차(3.92%)와 기아(5.22%)를 제외하고 삼성전자(-1.88%),LG에너지솔루션(-3.58%),셀트리온(-1.96%),한국야마자키마작 두광기계 부산사업소KB금융(-3.21%),POSCO홀딩스(-2.37%) 등 대부분 약세를 보였다.
