카카오의 'SM 시세조종' 의혹을 수사하고 있는 검찰이 오늘 김범수 카카오 경영쇄신위원회 위원장을 소환 조사하고 있습니다.

김 위원장이 검찰에 넘겨진 지 8달 만의 첫 소환 조사입니다.

SM 엔터테인먼트 시세조종에 관여했다는 의혹을 받고 있는 김범수 카카오 경영쇄신위원회 위원장.

검찰이 오늘 오전부터 자본시장법 위반 혐의로 김 위원장을 불러 조사하고 있습니다.

지난해 11월 금융감독원이 김 위원장을 검찰에 넘긴 지 8달 만의 첫 소환 조사입니다.

김 위원장은 지난해 2월 카카오와 하이브의 SM 엔터테인먼트 인수전에서 하이브의 공개 매수를 방해할 목적으로 시세 조종을 공모한 혐의를 받습니다.

당시 SM 인수전에 뛰어든 하이브가 공개매수 가격으로 12만 원을 제시하자,승무패젠토토이를 막기 위해 주가를 더 높게 형성해 경쟁을 방해했다는 의혹입니다.

검찰은 카카오가 약 2천4백억 원을 동원해 SM 주식을 장내 매집하면서 500차례 넘게 고가 매수한 것으로 보고 있습니다.

인수 경쟁사였던 하이브의 공개 매수 가격보다 SM 주가를 더 비싸게 만든겁니다.

카카오는 이 과정에서 금융당국에 주식 대량 보유 보고를 하지 않은 혐의도 받습니다.

앞서 검찰은 같은 혐의로 배재현 카카오 투자총괄대표와 카카오 법인을 먼저 재판에 넘겼습니다.

배 대표는 자본시장에서의 자유로운 경쟁이었고 불법성이 없다며 혐의를 부인했습니다.

검찰은 최근까지 김 위원장의 최측근인 황태선 카카오 CA 협의체 총괄대표 등에 대한 조사를 진행해온 것으로 알려졌습니다.
