이른바 '동탄 화장실 성범죄' 사건을 최초로 신고한 50대 여성이 무고 혐의로 입건됐습니다.

경찰은 해당 여성의 신고로 강제추행 혐의를 받은 20대 남성에 대해 직접 사과하기로 했습니다.

20대 남성에게 성범죄자 누명을 씌워 논란이 된 이른바 '동탄 화장실 성범죄' 사건.

해당 사건의 최초 신고자인 50대 여성이 경찰에 입건됐습니다.

경기 화성동탄경찰서는 50대 여성 A 씨를 무고 혐의로 입건했다고 밝혔습니다.

경찰은 A 씨가 20대 남성 B 씨를 용의자로 명확히 지목한 점을 들어 무고의 고의가 있다고 보고 A 씨를 입건했습니다.

A 씨는 지난달 23일 경기 화성시의 한 아파트 관리사무소 여자 화장실에서 한 남성이 용변을 보는 모습을 훔쳐보고 성적 행위를 했다는 내용의 허위 신고를 한 혐의를 받습니다.

A 씨는 경찰 조사에서 CCTV 영상을 보며 B 씨를 범인으로 지목했습니다.

하지만 B 씨는 유튜브 영상을 통해 자신이 억울하게 성범죄 혐의를 받고 있다며 경찰이 자신에게 부당한 대우를 했다고 주장했습니다.

B 씨는 경찰이 반말을 하거나 '떳떳하면 가만히 있어라'는 등의 말을 했다고 밝혔습니다.

영상이 공개된 뒤 경찰에 대한 비난 여론이 거세졌습니다.

이후 경찰은 A 씨가 지난달 27일 경찰서를 찾아 "허위신고를 했다"고 자백하면서 B 씨에 대한 입건을 취소하고 무혐의 처리했다고 설명했습니다.

[남언호/변호사/B 씨 측 변호인 : "허위 사실을 알면서 신고한 행위는 형법 156조 무고죄에 해당하는 범죄입니다.억울한 사람이 형사처벌을 받을 수 있는 만큼 무겁게 수사와 재판이 이뤄져야 한다고 생각을 하고요."]

경찰은 B 씨를 직접 찾아 사과할 예정이라고 밝혔습니다.
