서울대발전재단이 서울대 가족 스티커를 배포하고 나서 논란이다.

14일 교육언론 창 보도에 따르면 서울대발전재단은 홈페이지에서 "SNU(서울대) 패밀리 스티커를 드린다"고 밝혔다.

부모와 자녀 이름,라스베이거스 도박자녀의 입학연도와 학과명 등의 정보를 적으면 스티커를 보내주겠다는 것이다.

이 스티커에는 "PROUD FAMILY(자랑스러운 가족)" "PROUD PARENT(자랑스러운 부모)" "I AM (SNU) MOM(나는 서울대생 엄마)",라스베이거스 도박"I AM (SNU) DAD(나는 서울대생 아빠)" 등의 문구가 서울대 로고와 함께 적혀 있다.

이 사업은 지난해 12월부터 진행한 것으로 알려졌다.

이 같은 사실이 알려지자 "학벌주의를 부추기는 것"이라는 비판도 나온다.

한 누리꾼은 "우리나라처럼 학벌주의와 부의 대물림,라스베이거스 도박효도 집착이 심한 나라에서 천박한 심리라고 본다"며 "서울대라는 점에서 계층을 자랑하는 것처럼 보인다"고 꼬집었다.

또 다른 누리꾼도 "이미 서울대는 단순히 인재들이 모이는 게 아니라 계급을 공고화하는 도구가 된 지 오래인데 그런 거에 대한 문제의식이 전혀 없다는 증거"라고 지적했다.

반면 미국의 대학에서는 소속감을 표시하기 위해 흔히 있는 굿즈라는 지적도 나왔다.

한편 서울대발전재단은 교육언론 창에 "학교 구성원의 소속감을 높이자는 차원에서 진행된 것"이라며 "내부 검토를 거쳐 판단할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
