코로나19로 중단됐던 북한과 러시아를 오가는 여객열차 운행이 4년여 만에 재개됐다고 미국의 북한 전문매체 NK뉴스가 보도했습니다.

NK뉴스는 러시아 세관 당국을 인용해 6일(현지시간) 오전 관광객 41명을 태운 여객열차가 북한을 향해 출발했다고 전했습니다.

이 열차의 탑승객은 전원 러시아 국적이라고 러시아 세관 당국은 밝혔습니다.

러시아 극동 연해주 블라디보스토크와 북한 라선시를 잇는 열차 구간은 코로나19의 세계적 유행 여파로 최근 수년간 운행이 중단됐었습니다.

블라디보스토크에서 여객열차에 탄 승객들은 라선에서 54km 거리인 러시아 하산역까지 이동한 뒤 북한 측 열차로 갈아타게 됩니다.

앞서 올레그 코제먀코 러시아 연해주 주지사는 지난달 블라디보스토크와 라선 간 여객 철도 운행이 재개될 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

연해주 정부에 따르면 올해 2월부터 5월까지 러시아 관광객 400여 명 이상이 북한을 방문했습니다.
