서울시가 전국 지자체 최초로 개고기를 다른 음식으로 둔갑시켜 파는 행위를 가려내는 검사 체계를 구축했습니다.

서울시 보건환경연구원은 동물 6종(고양이·개·소·돼지·닭·오리)의 DNA 연구 결과,개 DNA에서만 유전자가 증폭되는 것을 확인해‘개 종 감별 키트’를 제작했다고 오늘(14일) 밝혔습니다.

오는 2027년부터 식용을 목적으로 개를 사육·도살해 판매하는 행위가 금지되는 만큼,개고기를 다른 고기로 속여 파는 행위를 선제적으로 감시하기 위한 검사 체계입니다.

서울시는 앞서 올해 2월부터 개 식용 종식 특별팀을 구성해,프로토승부식개 식용 유통업자를 대상으로 실태조사를 실시하고 폐업·전업 계획이 포함된 이행계획서를 제출받았습니다.

이수연 정원도시국장은 “개 식용 종식법에 따라 지자체 최초 개 종 감별 시스템을 구축했다”며 “이를 활용해 이행 계획이 제대로 이뤄지고 있는지 면밀히 조사할 것”이라고 밝혔습니다.
