24일(현지시각) CNBC는 이 사안에 정통한 소식통들의 말을 인용해 이같이 보도했다.

쉬인은 지난해 11월 뉴욕증시 IPO를 신청했으나 미국 의원들의 반대에 부딪혔다.

미국 의원들은 쉬인이 공급망에서 강제 노동을 사용하고 있으며,대구 동성로 로또미국 세법 면제 조항을 활용하고 있다며 반복적으로 우려를 표해왔다.쉬인은 IPO를 추진하면서 수입세 절감을 위해 워싱턴에 막대한 로비 비용을 지출했는데,대구 동성로 로또일부 미 의원들은 이에 대해 비판하기도 했다.

쉬인은 아직까지도 미 증권거래위원회(SEC)로부터 IPO 신청과 관련한 별다른 소식을 듣지 못하고 있는 것으로 전해진다.

앞서 쉬인은 미국 상장을 위해 중국 당국의 승인을 구한 바 있는데,대구 동성로 로또이번 런던 상장을 위해서도 중국 당국의 승인을 구했는지는 알려지지 않았다.

중국에서 사업을 시작한 쉬인은 2021년에 본사를 싱가포르로 이전하는 등 글로벌 기업으로 자리매김하기 위해 많은 노력을 기울여 왔다.하지만 쉬인의 공급망 대부분은 여전히 중국에 기반을 두고 있으며,뉴욕증시 상장 신청 당시 중국 당국의 승인을 받아야 했다는 점에서 쉬인은 중국 당국의 통제 하에 있는 것으로 볼 수 있다고 CNBC는 짚었다.

쉬인은 미국 의원들과 당국은 물론,대구 동성로 로또소매업계로부터도 외면받고 있는 것으로 전해진다.쉬인은 업계 최대 무역협회인 전미소매업연맹(NRF)에 여러 차례 회원 가입을 신청했으나 번번히 거절당했다고 한다.
