[서울=뉴시스]이창훈 기자 = 한국자동차기자협회(기자협회)가 '7월 이달의 차'에 기아 소형 전기 스포츠실용차(SUV) '더 기아 EV3(EV3)'를 선정했다고 4일 밝혔다.

기자협회 산하 올해의 차 선정위원회는 전월 1일부터 말일까지 출시된 신차와 부분 변경 모델을 심사해 이달의 차를 발표한다.

이 심사에는 ▲내외부 디자인 및 감성 품질 ▲안전성 및 편의 사양 ▲동력 성능 ▲에너지 효율성 및 온실가스 배출 ▲상품성 및 구매 의향도 등 5개 부문을 평가한다.

7월의 차 후보로는 EV3와 함께 디 올-뉴 메르세데스-벤츠 CLE 카브리올레,맨 시티 대 첼시뉴 미니 컨트리맨,맨 시티 대 첼시지프 더 뉴 랭글러 4xe 등이 경합을 벌였다.

치열한 경쟁 끝에 EV3가 35점(50점 만점)을 얻어 7월 이달의 차에 최종 선정됐다.

기아 EV3는 에너지 효율성 및 온실가스 배출 부문에서 7.3점(10점 만점)을 받았다.이외에 ▲안전성 및 편의 사양 ▲동력 성능 ▲상품성 및 구매 의향도 부문에서는 각각 7점을 기록했다.

정치연 올해의 차 선정위원장은 "EV3는 역동성과 실용성을 겸비한 디자인에 81.4㎾h(킬로와트시) 배터리를 탑재한 롱레인지 모델 기준 501㎞에 이르는 1회 충전 주행 거리를 갖췄다"고 말했다．
