경북도는 아프리카돼지열병(ASF) 확산을 막기 위해 양돈농가에 야생 멧돼지 기피제를 지원한다고 14일 밝혔다.

올해 들어 영덕,영천,경기도지식캠퍼스안동,예천 등 4개 시군 양돈농가 4곳에서 발생한 ASF 주요 원인이 야생 멧돼지와의 직·간접 접촉에 따른 것으로 추정된 데 따른 것이다.해당 농가에 대해서는 집중소독과 살처분,경기도지식캠퍼스역학조사 등 방역 조치가 완료된 상태다.

도는 오는 22일까지 포항,경기도지식캠퍼스안동,영주,상주 등 12개 시·군 양돈농가 350여곳에 야생 멧돼지 기피제 2260포를 무료로 나눠줄 계획이다.도에 따르면 2022년부터 올해 7월까지 경북에 서식하는 야생 멧돼지에서 ASF 바이러스가 검출된 건수는 991건으로 집계됐다.

김주령 농축산유통국장은 “ASF 바이러스 유입을 막기 위해 야생 멧돼지의 양돈농가 접근을 차단해야 한다”며 “농가도 배수로를 정비하고 야산 방문을 금지하는 등 기본 방역 수칙을 철저히 준수해야 한다”고 당부했다.
