차의과학대 연구진,NK세포-심혈관 질환 연관성 확인

최근 차의과학대 연구진은 NK세포와 심혈관질환의 연관성을 처음으로 확인하고 학계에 보고했다.

차움 이윤경·서은경·오효주 교수,시아캄분당차병원 김영상·함지희 교수팀은 국내 성인 남녀 1453명의 건강검진 데이터를 분석했다.NK세포의 활성도를 4개 집단으로 나눠 고혈압과의 관계를 5년(평균 2.13년) 동안 관찰했다.

이 결과,NK세포 활성도가 낮아지면 고혈압 발병률이 높아진다는 사실을 확인했다.구체적으론 NK세포 활성도가 300pg/mL 이하인 그룹의 고혈압 발병률은 1700pg/mL 이상인 그룹보다 1.6배 높았다.

이를 통해 연구진은 NK세포가 혈관 내피 기능 보존에 간접적으로 기여한다는 점을 확인했다.NK세포가 염증과 혈관 신생(새로운 모세혈관을 생성하는 작용) 기능을 조절하기에,시아캄활성화할수록 혈관 건강에도 이롭다는 의미다.

NK세포는 암세포나 바이러스,시아캄감염세포 등 비정상세포를 스스로 감지해 제거하는 면역세포다.신체에서 정상적인 활성 수치는 500pg/mL 이상이다.차세대 항암제로도 각광받고 있기에 NK세포 관련 연구가 활발하지만,대체로 면역력,시아캄노화 등의 분야에 집중됐다.

이윤경 교수는 "NK세포가 고혈압 환자의 혈관 내피손상과 기능장애를 일으키는 역할을 할 수 있다는 사실을 확인했다"면서 "다양한 질환에서 NK세포 활성도를 높이고 면역을 높이는 치료가 점점 더 중요해질 것"이라고 전망했다.
