애플·MS 등 동일 비중 담아
운용 역사 짧고 테마형 '유의'

최근 미국 증시는 고평가 우려에도 소수 종목에 집중되는 현상이 심화하고 있다.작년 7월 나스닥100지수가 이례적으로 특별 비중을 조절한 것도 지수에 대한 일부 종목의 영향력이 지나치게 커졌기 때문이다.하지만 1년이 지난 현재까지 나스닥 상위 10개 종목은 나스닥100지수 시가총액의 50%를 차지한다.

여기엔 명백한 이유가 있다.첫째,퀵슬롯 전환인공지능(AI)이 이끄는 혁신 성장 바람이 소수 빅테크 중심으로 가속화를 일으킬 것으로 예상돼서다.둘째,미국의 고금리 와중에 글로벌 투자 자금이 재무적 체력을 어느 정도 증명할 수 있는 대형주 중심으로 집중됐다.

이에 따라 상장지수펀드(ETF) 시장에선 주요 소수 종목에 집중 투자하는 ETF도 나왔다.라운드힐 매그니피센트(MAGS)다.이 ETF는 최근 1~2년간 미국 증시 성과를 이끈 초대형 빅테크 종목 7개를 일컫는‘매그니피센트7’에 투자한다.애플,마이크로소프트,구글,아마존,메타,엔비디아,테슬라 등이다.운용사 라운드힐이 7개 종목을 기본적으로 동일한 비중으로 포트폴리오에 담고,분기 단위로 리밸런싱한다.

MAGS는 추종하는 벤치마크 지수가 없기 때문에 운용사 재량대로 투자하는 액티브 펀드로 분류된다.라운드힐은 블랙록과 뱅가드처럼 다양한 자산을 다루는 대형 운용사는 아니다.테마 ETF와 인컴형 ETF로 알려진 운용사다.국내 투자자에겐 메타버스 테마 ETF로 잘 알려진 라운드힐 볼 메타버스(METV)를 운용한다.생성형 AI 관련 기업에 투자하는 라운드힐 생성형AI&테크놀로지(CHAT),퀵슬롯 전환비만치료제와 체중 감량 관련 기업을 담은 라운드힐 GLP1 앤드 웨이트로스(OZEM) ETF도 운용한다.

MAGS ETF는 고도로 집중된 투자 ETF다.서학개미가 즐겨 담는 종목으로 구성돼 포트폴리오에 대형주를 꾸러미로 한 번에 담고 싶은 투자자에게 적합하다.장기적으로 꾸준히 투자할 땐 동일 비중 투자의 장점인 개별 주식 변동성 축소라는 이점도 누릴 수 있다.다만 운용 역사가 아직 짧고 테마에 가까운 ETF라는 것은 투자 시 유의해야 할 점이다.
