[서울=뉴시스]박선정 기자 = 리튬 배터리 제조·판매 업체인 아리셀 공장 화재로 숨진 22명 중 21명이 외국인으로 확인된 가운데 법무부가 사고로 숨진 외국인 직원의 유가족에 대해 행정적 편의를 제공한다는 방침을 세웠다.

24일 법무부는 이번 사고로 사망한 외국인 직원의 유가족에 대해 비자 발급 등 신속한 입국과 국내 체류 편의를 지원할 예정이라고 밝혔다.

법무부는 아울러 "외국인 노동자를 보호하는 정부의 방침에 따라 사고 수습 지원을 위해 비상대책반을 구성할 것"이라며 "경찰과 소방 등 관계기관과 적극 협조해 사망 외국인의 신원확인 등 절차를 진행할 계획"이라고 전했다.

소방 당국 등에 따르면 이날 오전 10시30분께 경기 화성 서신면 전곡리 전곡산업단지에 입주해 있는 일차전지 제조업체 아리셀 공장에서 불이 났다.

오후 6시 기준 인명피해는 30명으로 집계됐으며 22명이 숨지고 8명이 부상을 당한 것으로 전해졌다.1명이 실종돼 당국이 수색 작업을 벌이고 있다.

소방과 경찰 등 관계당국은 25일 오전 10시30분께부터 화재 원인 규명을 위한 합동감식을 벌일 예정이다.
