우리 국민 5명 중 4명이 가입해 있는 간편 결제 서비스 카카오페이가 가입자 정보를 중국 업체 알리페이에 무단으로 유출한 정황이 드러났습니다.아이디 뿐 아니라 전화번호 등 다양한 개인정보가 넘어간 것으로 파악됐습니다.

김창섭 기자가 보도합니다.

개인정보를 한 번 등록해 놓으면 클릭 몇 번으로 손쉽게 송금과 결제를 할 수 있는 카카오페이 서비스입니다.

전체 국민 5000만 명 가운데 4000만 명이 쓰고 있습니다.

"사람들도 많이 쓰고 하니까 (돈을) 다 받기도 편하고 보내기도 편해서 많이 쓰는 것 같아요."

금감원 조사 결과,카카오페이가 가입자 정보를 중국 핀테크 업체 알리페이에 고객 동의 없이 넘긴 것으로 드러났습니다.

피해 규모는 4045만 명의 개인정보 542억 건.지난 6년간 아이디뿐 아니라 휴대폰 번호와 이메일 계정,네덜란드 축구 순위거래내역까지 모조리 유출됐습니다.

애플과 제휴를 맺으면서 고객 신용점수를 산출하는 업무를 알리페이에 맡겼는데,네덜란드 축구 순위애플 결제를 하지 않는 가입자 정보까지 무작위로 넘겼다는 게 금감원의 설명입니다.

알리페이는 카카오페이의 2대 주주입니다.이용자들은 당혹감을 감추지 못합니다.

"내 정보가 내가 동의하지 않았는데도 팔려나가는 것 자체가 조금 우려스럽죠.어떤 범죄에 악용이 될 수도 있을…."

카카오페이는 "단순 업무 위탁이어서 고객 동의가 필요 없고,정보도 모두 암호화 됐다"고 강하게 반발했습니다.

하지만 금감원은 "본인 동의가 필요한 3자 제공이고,암호도 쉽게 풀수 있다"고 지적했습니다.

주가조작 혐의로 김범수 창업자가 구속된 데 이어,개인정보 무단 유출 사태까지 터지면서 카카오는 총체적 위기에 빠졌습니다.
