조주완 LG전자 CEO가 방한하는 크리스티아노 아몬 퀄컴 최고경영자(CEO)와 만난다.이번 회동에서는 온디바이스 인공지능(AI) 반도체 등 퀄컴과 LG전자의 AI 분야 협업 방안을 논의할 예정이다.

10일 업계에 따르면 아몬 CEO는 오는 11일 오후 서울 여의도 LG전자 본사에서 조 CEO와 만나 양사의 협력 방안을 논의할 것으로 알려졌다

LG전자는 과거 모바일사업(MC사업본부)부터 퀄컴과 협업을 진행 중이다.지난 2022년 LG전자가 출시한 태블릿 PC에 퀄컴의 애플리케이션 프로세서(AP)인‘스냅드래곤 680′이 탑재됐다.LG전자 무선이어폰 톤프리에도 퀄컴의 음향 설루션‘aptX 어댑티브’가 적용됐다.그밖에 퀄컴은 전장을 담당하는 LG전자 VS사업본부에 차량용 텔레매틱스 및 인포테인먼트용 칩 등을 공급하고 있다.

이번 퀄컴 CEO와 조 CEO의 회동에서는 온디바이스 AI 등을 중심으로 사업 협력 논의가 이뤄질 것으로 전망된다.특히 최근 LG전자가 최고기술경영자(CTO) 부문 산하에 온디바이스 AI 사업 전략을 총괄하는 조직을 신설한 만큼 이와 연계한 사업 방안도 논의될 것으로 예상된다.

아몬 CEO는 방한 기간 삼성전자를 포함한 다른 국내 기업들과 만날 가능성도 제기된다.앞서 아몬 CEO는 지난달 10일 미국 출장 중이던 이재용 삼성전자 회장과 만나 AI 반도체와 차세대 통신칩 등 미래 반도체 시장에서의 협력 방안을 논의하기도 했다.
