경북 영천에서 집중 호우 여파로 저수지 및 하천 제방 붕괴 사고가 잇따르고 있다.

11일 영천시에 따르면 이날 오전 9시18분쯤 화남면 죽곡리 유곡저수지 제방 일부가 무너지며 주변 논밭 19ha가 물에 잠기는 등의 피해가 났다.다행히 인명 피해는 없다.

유곡저수지는 가로 40m,전북높이 5m,전북저수량 3천300㎥ 규모로 1945년 완공 이후 80년이 지난 노후 저수지다.

지난 8일부터 지역에 누적 강수량 250mm 이상의 많은 비가 내리면서 저수지 중간부분에 가로 4m,세로 5m 크기의 제방이 유실됐다.

이어 오후 3시20분쯤에는 금호강 및 북안천 지류가 만나는 도동 김치공장 부근 하천 제방 20m 정도가 붕괴되며 주변 마을 17가구가 침수 피해를 입었다.

특히 하천 범람 등에 대비해 설치한 배수 펌프가 1년 넘게 고장 상태로 방치돼 피해 규모를 키웠다는 것이 주민들의 설명이다.

영천시 재난당국은 "10일 오후 4시 기준 도로·주택·농경지 침수 등 138건의 피해신고가 접수돼 긴급 복구와 함께 피해 규모를 조사하고 있다"며 "2차 피해가 없도록 행정적 지원에 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

한편,한국수자원공사는 이날 오후 2시부터 초당 150톤(t) 규모의 영천댐 수문 방류를 실시하면서 금호강 및 자호천 주변 출입 금지 및 차량 진입 자제 등을 당부했다.

이날 오후 1시 기준 영천댐 저수량은 8천717㎥로 저수율 84.5%를 기록하고 있다.
