SNE리서치 보고서…올해 중국산 음극재 점유율 92.7%로 증가세

(서울=연합뉴스) 한지은 기자 = 리튬이차전지 음극재 판매 부진에 따른 수요 감소로 음극재 가격이 올해 내내 하락 또는 현상 유지하다가 2025∼2026년 반등할 것이라는 전망이 나왔다.

에너지 전문 시장조사업체 SNE리서치는 15일 발표한 보고서에서 올해 상반기 음극재 가격이 인조흑연(AG)은 ㎏당 4.5달러,천연흑연(NG)은 ㎏당 5.0달러를 기록했다고 밝혔다.

흑연을 포함한 음극재 가격은 전기차 캐즘(Chasm·일시적 수요 정체)과 과도한 캐파(생산능력) 증설에 따른 공급 확대 영향으로 하락세를 보였다.

가격 반등 시기는 비(非)중국 업체의 시장 진출과 맞물릴 것으로 분석됐다.

현재 중국 업체의 음극재 출하량 점유율은 2021년 87.5%에서 2023년 92.6%,올해 92.7%로 증가하는 추세다.

올해 1분기 음극재 총 출하량은 약 24만t이며,슬롯 머신 추천이중 중국 BTR이 전체의 24%를 차지해 점유율 1위에 올랐다.이밖에 글로벌 음극재 시장의 상위 8위까지 모두 중국 업체다.

실리콘(Si) 음극재 가격은 비중국 업체가 본격적으로 시장에 참가하는 2025년 이후 하락 속도가 둔화할 것으로 SNE리서치는 예상했다.

현재 BTR 같은 중국 업체의 가격은 낮고,슬롯 머신 추천일본 신에츠(Shin-Etsu) 등 비중국 업체의 가격은 높은 편이다.지금까지는 중국 물량이 더 많아 가격 하락 폭이 두드러졌다.

배터리 음극재 핵심 소재인 흑연은 중국산 의존도가 높은 대표적인 광물로 꼽힌다.한국무역협회에 따르면 지난해 인조흑연의 95.3%,슬롯 머신 추천천연흑연의 97.2%를 중국 수입에 의존하고 있다.

미국 정부가 단기간에 중국산 흑연을 대체하기 어려운 현실을 반영해 흑연을 중국 등 외국우려기업(FEOC)에서 조달해도 2026년 말까지 문제 삼지 않기로 해 당분간 중국산 흑연이 강세일 것으로 SNE리서치는 내다봤다.
