당대표 후보로 나선 국민의힘 나경원 의원(5선)이 29일 국민의힘 충남당원들과 릴레이 간담회를 했다.

나경원 의원은 이날 릴레이 간담회로 충남 홍성·예산과 서산·태안,야구 정식종목 천안 당원협의회,야구 정식종목 충남도당을 차례로 방문했다.

나 의원은 “충청은 민심의 바로미터(상태를 아는 기준)다. 충청이 택한 대선 후보는 모두 대통령에 당선됐다”며 “앞으로 당이 노력해서 민심을 얻어야 하는 곳이다.민심을 얻기 위해 무력한 여당이 아니라 생명력 있는 여당으로 거듭나야 한다”고 주장했다.

이어 “범야권 180석을 상대로 강하게 투쟁하고 때로는 빠르게 협상해야 한다. 본회의장도 들어오지 못하고 교섭단체 연설도 하지 못하는 원외 당 대표가 과연 직무를 수행할 수 있을지 의문”이라며 “저는 2019년 자유한국당 원내대표 시절 ‘김정은 수석대변인’ 교섭단체 연설로 문재인 정권과 싸웠고 조국 전 장관 사퇴를 이끌어냈다. 우리 당의 험지인 서울에서 이재명 대표와 싸워 이긴 유일한 후보다”라고 당대표로서의 강점을 역설했다.

마지막으로 나 의원은 “충청도의 딸,야구 정식종목 나경원이 여당을 바꾸겠다. 무력한 여당에 생명력을 불어넣겠다”며 “충청의 민심을 얻어 보수의 승리를 이끌어 내겠다”고 강조했다.
