우표 형태로 제조한 신종 마약을 국내로 들여온 40대 미국인이 구속 상태로 검찰에 넘겨졌다.

인천공항세관은 지난달 향정신성 의약품인 '리서직산 디에틸아마이드'(LSD)를 밀반입한 미국인 A씨를 마약류관리법 위반 혐의로 구속해 인천지검에 송치했다고 26일 밝혔다.

세관은 캐나다발 특송화물에 LSD 100장이 은닉됐다는 정보를 미국 관세국경보호청(CBP)으로부터 입수했다.이후 배송 과정을 추적해 특송화물을 수령하려던 A씨를 긴급체포했다.

서울 용산구의 A씨 거주지에서 압수한 휴대전화를 분석한 결과 그는 지난 1월부터 같은 방식으로 세 차례에 걸쳐 2500만 원 상당인 LSD 252.5장을 반입해온 것으로 드러났다.

LSD는 보통 종이에 얇은 막으로 부착(흡착)돼 있는 형태로 유통되는데,일본 2018 월드컵A씨도 우표 모양의 작은 종이에 흡착된 LSD를 비닐에 밀봉한 뒤 책 사이에 끼워 밀수해왔다.

LSD는 100∼250㎍만 복용해도 환각 작용을 일으킨다.부작용으로는 동공 마비,신경장애,일본 2018 월드컵몸 떨림,메스꺼움 등이 보고됐다.
