대북송금과 뇌물수수 등 혐의로 기소된 이화영 전 경기도 평화부지사에 대해 1심 법원이 중형을 선고했습니다.

재판부는 이 전 부지사가 "반성 없이 비합리적인 변명을 이어왔다"고 비판했는데요.

이 전 부지사 측은 "재판부가 편파적"이라며 즉각 항소 입장을 밝혔습니다.

법원은 검찰이 이화영 전 경기도 평화부지사에게 적용한 혐의 대부분을 유죄로 판단했습니다.

먼저 핵심 쟁점인 대북송금 공모 혐의에 대해 "쌍방울이 경기도가 낼 비용을 대납했다는 김성태 전 회장 발언의 신빙성이 인정됐다"고 했습니다.

다만 검찰이 공소사실에 적시한 8백만 달러 중 처벌 규정이 없다고 본 금액을 빼고 394만 달러만 불법자금으로 판단했습니다.

또,톤 스티스지난 2018년부터 4년간 쌍방울로부터 법인카드와 차량을 받는 등 정치자금과 뇌물 3억 3천여만 원을 받은 점도 인정했습니다.

이화영 전 부지사나 그의 가족이 해당 법인카드를 사용했고 대북 사업 경험이 전혀 없는 쌍방울이 이 사업에 참여한 점을 들어 뇌물에 직무 관련성이 있다는 검찰 주장을 받아들인 겁니다.

이에 따라 이 전 부지사에게는 징역 9년 6개월에 벌금 2억 5천만 원이 선고됐습니다.

재판장인 신진우 부장판사는 "아무런 문제의식 없이,톤 스티스우리 사회에서 정치인과 사기업 사이 유착관계를 끊어내려는 노력을 저버려 죄질이 불량"하다고 판시했습니다.

이 전 부지사 측은 "재판부가 편파적"이라며 반발하며 항소하겠다고 밝혔습니다.

"'김성태는 정직하고 이화영은 거짓말쟁이다.' (재판부가) 이걸 전제로 깔아놓고 재판을 했습니다."

검찰도 북한에 송금된 8백만 달러 전체를 유죄로 보지 않은 점,톤 스티스또 구형 대비 형량이 낮은 점은 항소심에서 다투겠다고 밝혔습니다.
