[파이낸셜뉴스] 이달 초 전남 여수산단에서 안전사고로 골절상을 입은 근로자가 광주,홀드 요건전남에서 응급수술 병원을 찾지 못하고 경기 시흥까지 옮겨져 다리를 절단한 사실이 뒤늦게 알려졌다.

전남대병원과 조선대병원 "수술 어렵다".시흥까지

26일 고용노동부 여수지청 등에 따르면 지난 3일 오후 5시 15분께 여수산단 사포2부두에서 근로자 A씨(51)씨의 오른쪽 다리가 컨베이어벨트에 끼이는 사고가 발생했다.

A씨는 119구조대의 응급처치를 받고 1시간이 지난 오후 6시 20분 여수의 한 종합병원으로 이송됐다.

응급처치와 영상을 촬영한 병원에서는 "수지 접합 전문 병원으로 이송해 수술을 해야 한다"고 말했다.

이에 가장 가까운 광주의 전남대병원과 조선대병원에 수술을 의뢰했지만 수용할 수 없다는 답이 돌아왔다.

어쩔 수 없이 다른 전문 병원을 물색,홀드 요건오후 7시쯤에야 경기 시흥의 한 병원에서 수술이 가능하다는 답을 받았다.

그렇게 사고 발생 6시간 만인 오후 11시께 시흥 병원에 도착한 A씨는 다음 날 오전 혈관 접합 수술,오후에는 골절 수술을 받았다.하지만 괴사가 진행돼 오른쪽 다리는 무릎 아래까지 절단해야 했다.

병원 관계자는 연합뉴스 측에 "이렇게 멀리서 오랜 시간 걸려 우리 병원까지 오는 경우는 매우 드물다"고 전했다.

가족들 "병원 파업때문에 다리 절단하게 됐다" 분통

A씨와 그의 가족들은 "전공의 이탈 등으로 가장 가까운 광주 대학병원에서 제때 받아주지 않아 절단까지 하게 됐다"며 문제를 제기한 것으로 전해졌다.

다만 전공의 이탈과 전원 거부는 관련이 없다는 게 전남대병원,조선대병원 측 입장이다.

병원 한 관계자는 "전공의 이탈 중이지만 정형외과 등 담당 전문의가 매일 응급실 당직 근무를 하며 중증 환자를 수용하고 있어 의정 갈등 탓에 전원을 거부한 것은 아닌 것 같다"고 해명했다.

이번 사고와 관련해 고용노동부 여수지청 관계자는 "A씨가 다리 절단까지 하게 됐는데 병원 치료를 포함해 작업장 안전 조치가 적절했는지 등을 조사할 계획이다"고 밝혔다.
