화재가 발생한 경기도 화성시 일차전지 공장.경기도소방재난본부 제공

24일 오전 10시 31분쯤 경기도 화성시의 일차전지 제조 공장에서 화재가 발생했다.이 불로 현재까지 1명이 숨지고,부산교통공사6명이 중경상을 입고 병원으로 옮겨졌다.현재 연락이 닿지 않는 실종추정 인원이 20여명에 달한다.

소방당국에 따르면 이 화재로 이날 오후 2시 기준 60대 한국인 남성 1명이 사망했고 중·경상자 6명 등 총 7명의 사상자가 나온 것으로 파악됐다.

이번 사고는 배터리 셀 1개에서 화재가 발생해 연쇄적으로 폭발이 일어나 발생한 것으로 추정된다.해당 공장에는 3만5천여개의 배터리 셀이 있어서 소방당국이 구조대 진입에 어려움을 겪고 있다.

소방당국은 화재 진화에 나서는 한편 공장 내부에 직원이 있는지 수색 작업도 벌이고 있다.

화재가 발생한 공장은 일차전지를 제조하는 공장으로 약 50명의 직원이 근무하는 것으로 알려졌다.공장 건물은 2018년 준공됐으며 철근콘크리트 구조에 연면적 2천362㎡,부산교통공사3층 짜리이다.
