(서울=뉴스1) 김예원 기자 = 김영호 통일부 장관의 인사청문회 답변을 조작해 유포한 혐의를 받는 유튜브 채널 제작자가 검찰에 넘겨졌다.

서울경찰청 사이버범죄수사대는 지난 17일 정보통신망법 이용 촉진 및 정보보호 등에 관한 법률 위반(명예훼손) 혐의로 유튜브 채널 '짧은 뉴스' 제작자 A 씨를 서울 중앙지검에 불구속 송치했다고 1일 밝혔다.

A 씨는 2023년 7월 21일 김 장관이 인사청문회에서 독도는 우리 땅인지 묻는 말에 "그것은 말씀드릴 수가 없습니다"라고 답한 것처럼 영상을 편집한 후 온라인에 게시한 혐의를 받는다.

이에 국민의힘 미디어 법률자문단은 그해 8월 개인의 우발적 일탈행위가 아니라 의도적·조직적 범행일 가능성이 있다는 이유로 A 씨를 서울경찰청에 고발했다.
