대통령실의 세종시 이전을 명확히 하는 내용을 담은 법률 개정안이 발의됐습니다.

새로운미래 김종민 의원(세종갑)은 대통령 집무실의 세종시 이전을 규정한 '신행정수도 후속대책을 위한 연기·공주지역 행정중심복합도시 건설을 위한 특별법'(이하 행복도시법) 일부 개정안을 대표 발의했다고 오늘(16일) 밝혔습니다.

현행법은 행정중심복합도시 이전 대상 기관에서 대통령을 제외하고 있습니다.

대통령 집무실에 대해서는 행정중심복합도시에 설치할 근거가 있지만 강행 규정이 아니어서 이전이 지연된다는 판단이 나옵니다.

개정안은 행정중심복합도시 이전 대상 기관에서 대통령을 제외한다는 규정을 삭제하는 한편 대통령 집무실 설치 규정을 강행 규정으로 변경한 것이 특징입니다.

대통령 집무실 설치 시한은 2027년 5월 9일로 못 박았습니다.

2027년 5월 9일은 윤석열 대통령의 임기 마지막 날입니다.

김 의원은 "대부분 중앙행정기관이 세종시에 있음에도 대통령이 이전 대상에서 제외된다면 국정운영 효율성과 국가균형발전 효과가 떨어진다"며 "대통령 집무실 설치를 구체적 이전 시기까지 명시한 강행 규정으로 개정해야 한다"고 밝혔습니다.
