'5인' 단체비자,도박의 무서움3인·일반인까지 확대
"관광객 무단이탈 관찰해 정식 검토"

[서울=뉴시스]최서진 기자 = 베트남과 필리핀,도박의 무서움인도네시아 등 동남아 3개국에 대한 단체관광 비자 대상 확대 시범운영 기간이 2년 연장된다.

법무부는 27일 "동남아 관광객 유치를 위해 시범운영 기간을 2년간 연장할 것"이라고 전했다.

법무부는 지난해 6월부터 동남아 관광객의 방한 관광 활성화를 위해 비자 신청이 간소화된 '5인 이상 단체관광 비자'의 발급 대상을 3인 이상으로 구성된 일반 여행객까지 확대 운영해왔다.

1년간 시범운영한 결과,도박의 무서움지난해 상반기 2만3781명이었던 3개국 단체관광 입국자는 제도 시행 후 하반기에 4만7397명으로 약 2배 증가했다.또 올해 1월부터 5월 말까지 전년 하반기보다 많은 5만6427명이 입국하는 등 증가 추세가 유지됐다.

반면 불법취업 등을 위한 관광객의 단체 이탈 사례도 발생하고 있는 것으로 전해졌다.

법무부는 "단체관광객의 무단이탈 사례를 지속적으로 관찰하여 정식 시행 여부를 검토할 예정"이라며 "관계부처 및 관광업계 의견을 수렴하여 체계적이고 균형잡힌 비자제도 개선을 추진해 나가겠다"고 전했다.
