냉난방 시설이 잘 갖춰진 나눔쉼터에서는 각종 아이스크림,음료,온라인 카지노 탑안마의자 등의 서비스를 무료로 제공받을 수 있다.

이 시설은 송전선로 건설 등 우리나라의 전력공급을 책임지는 한국전력공사가 한국갈등관리연구소에 위탁해 운영하는 곳이다.

다만 해당 시설의 홍보와 설립 취지가 널리 알려지지 않아 일반 주민의 접근이 쉽지 않았다.

이에 군은 해당 시설을 무더위쉼터로 지정해 많은 주민이 이용할 수 있도록 했다.

나눔쉼터 입구에 '무더위쉼터 현판'도 부착할 방침이다.

지금까지 군은 경로당,온라인 카지노 탑주민센터,온라인 카지노 탑마을회관 등 26곳을 무더위쉼터로 운영하고 있었다.

심재국 평창군수는 "나눔쉼터는 쾌적하고 시설도 좋아 군민 누구나 편하게 이용할 수 있는 곳"이라며 "앞으로 무더위쉼터를 추가로 더 지정해 폭염에 취약한 군민이 언제든 이용할 수 있도록 하겠다"고 말했다.
