방송사 "우려와 실망에 사과"한국방송공사(KBS)가 제79주년 광복절 당일인 15일 첫 방송에 일본 군국주의 상징인 기미가요가 삽입된 오페라 '나비부인'을 방송해 물의를 빚고 있다.

KBS는 이날 오전 0시부터 'KBS중계석' 코너를 통해 지난 6월 예술의전당 무대를 녹화한 대한민국 오페라 페스티벌 '나비부인'을 방송했다.자코모 푸치니가 작곡한 '나비부인'은 미국이 일본을 강제 개항하도록 한 1900년대 2차대전 당시 히로시마와 더불어 원자폭탄이 떨어진 곳으로 유명한 항구도시 나가사키를 배경으로 한 작품이다.

이처럼 일본 색이 짙은 오페라를 다른 날도 아닌 광복절 첫 프로그램으로 편성하자 KBS 시청자게시판에는 항의 댓글이 빗발쳤다.

KBS는 이날 오후 뒤늦게 입장문을 내고 "시청자분들께 우려와 실망을 끼친 점에 대해서 사과를 드린다"고 밝혔다.이어 오페라 '나비부인' 편성에 대해 "당초 6월 29일 해당 공연이 녹화됐고 지난달 말 방송 예정이었으나 올림픽 중계로 방송이 밀리면서 광복절 새벽에 '나비부인'을 방송하게 됐다"고 해명했다.
