(서울=연합뉴스) 장보인 기자 = 현충일을 맞아 경찰과 시민이 함께 달리며 순직 경찰관의 자녀를 돕는 '기부 러닝' 행사가 열린다.

서울 지역 경찰관들로 구성된 러닝크루 'KNPR'과 서울 혜화·동작·서초·방배경찰서는 오는 6일 오전 8시 30분 서울 서초구 예빛섬에서 출발해 동작구 국립서울현충원 일대 6.6㎞를 달리는 행사를 연다고 5일 밝혔다.

행사에는 경찰관과 시민 약 120명이 참여하며 인당 6천600원의 참여비는 모두 순직 경찰관의 자녀를 돕는 참수리사랑재단에 기부된다.

울산경찰청 러닝 동호회인 '폴러너즈' 소속 20여명의 경찰관도 울산 지역에서 6.6㎞ 기부 러닝을 통해 뜻을 모은다.

이번 러닝 행사는 순직한 동료의 자녀와 가족을 돕기 위해 경찰관들이 자발적 신청으로 매달 급여에서 100원을 모아 기부하는 경찰청의 '100원의 기적' 캠페인에 동참하는 취지로 마련됐다.

윤희근 경찰청장은 "국가와 국민을 위해 헌신한 영웅들의 정신을 기리기 위해 뜻깊은 행사에 참여하는 경찰 동료들과 시민 여러분께 감사를 전하며 앞으로도 경찰관들이 자긍심과 사명감을 가지고 직무에 매진할 수 있도록 더욱 노력하겠다"고 전했다.
