미국 헤지펀드들이 금년 상반기 주식시장을 주도한 기술주,야쿠마루 가쿠특히 인공지능(AI) 반도체 칩메이커들의 주식을 대량 처분하고 금융주 매수에 나선 것으로 나타났습니다.

현지시간 25일 골드만삭스는 자사 프라임 브로커리지 서비스(PBS) 데이터를 토대로 "기술주는 지난주 헤지펀드들의 거래에서 가장 큰 순매도를 기록했다"며 헤지펀드들이 최근 5주 가운데 4주 동안 해당 섹터의 지분을 줄여왔다고 전했습니다.

특히 반도체·칩 장비 제조업체의 주식이 해당 기간 가장 많이 처분됐습니다.

골드만삭스는 현재 칩 주식이 헤지펀드들의 주식투자 내역에서 차지하는 비중 '순노출'은 4.3%로,야쿠마루 가쿠5년래 최고치였던 지난 6월 초의 5.8% 보다 1.5%포인트 낮아졌다고 설명했습니다.

헤지펀드들이 기술주를 적극 매도한 시기는 AI붐의 최대 수혜자인 엔비디아(NAS:NVDA)를 필두로 한 해당 부문 주가 하락 기간과 일치합니다.

엔비디아는 올 상반기 뉴욕증시 랠리를 주도하며 지난 5일 시가총액 3조 달러를 첫 돌파하고 지난 18일 마이크로소프트(NAS:MSFT)를 넘어 시총 1위에까지 올랐다.그러나 시총 1위 도달 바로 다음날부터 3거래일 연속 주가가 급락했습니다.

엔비디아 주가는 지난 20일 3.54%,야쿠마루 가쿠21일 3.22% 밀린 데 이어 24일 6.68% 떨어지면서 지난 4월19일(11.12% 하락) 이후 최대 낙폭을 기록했습니다.

골드만삭스는 헤지펀드들이 지난 2주 연속 기술주들을 매도하는 와중에 금융주들을 매입했다며 "작년 12월 이후 가장 빠른 속도로 로테이션을 진행했다"고 부연했습니다.

스탠더드앤드푸어스(S&P)500지수 11개 업종 가운데 금융 부문은 올해들어 지금까지 9%대 상승하며 S&P500 평균 상승률 15%를 하회하고 있습니다.

반면 정보기술 부문은 30% 이상 상승했습니다.
