(대구=뉴스1) 남승렬 기자 = 경북대 총장 임용후보자 1순위로 기호 3번 허영우 교수(신소재공학부)가 25일 선출됐다.

기호 1번 이형철(물리학과) 교수는 2순위가 됐다.

경북대에 따르면 이날 오전 11시부터 교원과 직원,사우디 골프학생들을 대상으로 제20대 경북대 총장 임용후보자 1차 투표를 한 결과 허 후보와 이 후보,사우디 골프두 명이 가장 많이 득표했다.

9명이 출사표를 던진 선거에서 투표는 교원,사우디 골프직원,사우디 골프학생 등 대학 구성원들이 온라인(스마트폰,사우디 골프이메일)으로 한표를 행사하는 방식으로 진행됐다.선거인별 득표 반영 비율은 교원 70%,직원 23%,사우디 골프학생 7%다.

경북대는 1차 투표에서 과반 이상 득표자가 없자 득표를 가장 많이 한 이들 후보 2명을 대상으로 오후 4시부터 오후 7시까지 결선 투표를 진행,허 후보를 1순위로 선출했다

교육부에 총장 임용후보자로 추천된 이들에 대해 대통령은 최종 1명을 경북대 총장으로 임명한다.
