한국이 세계 최초로 상용화한 코드분할다중접속(CDMA)이 정보통신기술(ICT) 분야의 노벨상으로 불리는‘국제전기전자공학협회(IEEE) 마일스톤(Milestone)’에 등재됐다.IEEE는 1884년 토머스 에디슨과 그레이엄 벨 주도로 창설된 전기·전자공학 분야 세계 최대 학회다.

SK텔레콤은 1996년 CDMA 대규모 상용화 성공 사례가 IEEE가 선정하는 IEEE 마일스톤에 등재됐다고 10일 밝혔다.SK텔레콤,토트넘연봉순위 조제한국전자통신연구원(ETRI),삼성전자,토트넘연봉순위 조제LG전자는 1990년대 이동통신의 수요 폭증에 대응해 통화 용량을 아날로그 방식보다 10배 이상 확대할 수 있는 CDMA 디지털 이동통신 시스템을 상용화했다.이를 계기로 한국은 단번에 이동통신 수입국에서 수출국으로 올라섰다.
