경남 진주의 한 중학교에서 2학년 학생들이 후배와 동급생을 협박하고 돈을 갈취한 사건 관련해 피해자가 눈덩이처럼 불어났다.

경남도교육청은 중학교 2학년 A군 일행 4명이 수개월간 후배를 갈취하고 협박하는 등 괴롭힌 사건을 전수조사했다고 3일 밝혔다.전수조사는 해당 학교 870명,인근 학교 976명을 대상으로 시행했다.

그 결과 이들은 지난 3월부터 최근까지 같은 학교 1학년 후배 22명,프리첼 맞고동급생 8명,약 2.3㎞ 떨어진 인근 중학교 1학년 8명과 2학년 3명 등 총 41명으로부터 온오프라인을 통해 돈을 받았다.

피해 금액은 126만6918원 정도에 이른다.피해자 대부분은 남학생이며,프리첼 맞고5000∼2만원까지 1∼2차례 돈을 빼앗겼다.당초 피해 학생은 같은 학교 1학년 5명으로 알려졌지만,프리첼 맞고이번 전수조사로 정확한 피해 규모를 파악한 것이다.

이 사건은 지난달 21일 피해 학생의 한 담임 교사가 이런 괴롭힘을 알게 되면서 수면 위로 떠올랐다.가해 학생들은 인스타그램 등 소셜미디어를 통해 "돈이 없으면 주변에서 구해라,프리첼 맞고돈 보내지 않으면 패주겠다"고 협박했다.

일부 학생에게는 성적 수치심을 유발하는 행동도 요구했다.바지를 잡아 내리려 시도하거나 신체 중요 부위에 이름표를 붙이고 인증 사진을 보내라고 강요하면서다.

협박은 했지만,폭행 피해 사례는 현재까지 확인되지 않았다.가해 학생 중 일부가 신체 문신을 해 피해 학생들은 겁을 먹고 협박을 이기지 못했다고 한다.

가해 학생은 모두 형사책임을 지는 연령으로,촉법소년은 아닌 것으로 전해졌다.이들에 대한 처벌 수위는 학교폭력 대책심의위원회에서 결정한다.

현재 가해 학생들은 수업은 듣지 않고,프리첼 맞고빈 교실에서 1명씩 교사 1명에게 지도를 받고 있다.도교육청 관계자는 "피해 학생 보호와 재발 방지를 위해 노력하고 있다"고 전했다.
