작년 자동차 보험사기 16% 급증…경찰 "고의교통사고 중대범죄…수사만큼 예방 중요"

(서울=연합뉴스) 홍준석 기자 = 고의 교통사고로 인한 보험사기를 피할 수 있도록 서울 운전자에게 내비게이션 앱과 노면 색깔 유도선을 통한 안내가 제공된다.

서울경찰청은 26일 오후 서울 종로구 손해보험협회에서 치안정책연구소,도로교통공단,1086 로또 당첨 번호손해보험협회,1086 로또 당첨 번호티맵모빌리티,1086 로또 당첨 번호카카오모빌리티와 함께 고의교통사고 보험사기 예방과 안전 교통문화 정착을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

경찰에 따르면 자동차 보험사기 피해 규모는 2022년 4천705억원에서 작년 5천476억원으로 771억원(16.4%)이나 증가했다.

급증하는 보험사기를 예방하기 위해 이들 기관은 고의교통사고 데이터를 분석해 다발 지역을 산출하고,해당 지역에 진입할 때 운전자에게 내비게이션 음성안내 서비스를 제공하기로 했다.

또 노면 색깔 유도선을 설치해 교통사고 자체를 줄이기 위한 노력을 병행할 계획이다.도로표지가 복잡해지면 오히려 사고가 늘어날 수 있기 때문에 고유 색상을 부여하지 않고 기존처럼 분홍색이나 녹색을 사용할 계획이다.

아울러 보험업계 차원에서도 보험사기 알선·권유 집중신고 기간을 운영한다.

경찰 관계자는 "고의교통사고 보험사기는 안전을 위협하고 보험료 부담을 가중하는 중대한 범죄"라며 "철저한 수사와 함께 예방이 중요한 만큼 협약에 참여한 기관과 협력해 안전한 교통문화를 확산해나가겠다"고 말했다.
