[서울=뉴시스]홍연우 기자 = 자신과 같은 농아인 172명을 상대로 10억원대 곗돈 사기를 친 남성이 9일 열린 첫 공판에서 혐의를 부인했다.

서울남부지법 형사14단독 홍윤하 판사는 이날 사기·유사수신행위의 규제에 관한 법률 위반 혐의를 받는 남성 A씨에 대한 1차 공판기일을 진행했다.

이날 A씨 측 변호인은 "사기를 치려는 의도가 아니었다"며 혐의를 부인했다.

검찰에 따르면 농아인인 피고인은 농아인들 모임에 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 점을 이용,프로야구 한화이글스농아인들을 상대로 계 가입금의 2~3배를 당첨금으로 지급하겠다고 속인 것으로 드러났다.

이후 돌려막기 구조의 '천계'를 개설해 농아인인 피해자 172명으로부터 10억885만원을 받아 편취한 것으로 조사됐다.

검찰은 수기 장부와 계좌거래내역 등의 자료를 비교·분석해 편취수법과 피해 금액을 특정한 뒤 지난달 13일 A씨를 구속 상태로 재판에 넘겼다.

A씨에 대한 다음 공판기일은 오는 8월13일에 열린다.
