포스코퓨처엠은 캐나다 양극재 합작법인 얼티엄캠 공장 가동을 대비해 지난달 10일부터 한달동안 공장 핵심 인력을 한국으로 불러 기술 교육을 실시했다고 4일 밝혔다.

현지 채용 직원 중 핵심 인력 21명을 대상으로 포항 인재창조원,카카오 블록양극재 공장 등에서 직무 교육이 이뤄졌다.현장 주임급 직원들로 10년 안팎의 제조업 근무경력자인 이들은 포항 양극장 공장에 3주간 출근해 생산,카카오 블록정비,카카오 블록품질 관련 조업 기술을 집중 학습했다고 회사 측은 전했다.

포스코퓨처엠이 미국 제너럴모터스(GM)와 설립한 얼티엄캠은 준공을 앞두고 있다.준공 후 시운전을 거쳐 내년부터 양산에 들어간다.

이곳에서 생산되는 양극재는 미국 인플레이션감축법(IRA)에 따른 세액공제가 가능하며,카카오 블록GM과 LG에너지솔루션의 합작사인 얼티엄셀즈에서 생산하는 배터리에 적용될 예정이다.
