미 의회예산처(CBO)는 18일(현지시각) 발표한 '2024~2034 예산·경제 전망 업데이트'에서 올해 재정적자 규모를 1조9000억달러(약 2625조8000억원)로 예상했다.

지급 시기가 늦춰진 것에 따른 영향을 제외할 경우 재정적자는 2조달러에 달한다.

이는 미국 국내총생산(GDP)의 7%에 달하는 규모인데,지난 2월 CBO 예상치보다 4000억달러(약 27%)가 증가했다.

몇달사이 지출은 더욱 늘어났는데 수입은 이를 따라가지 못하고 있다는 의미다.

공공부채는 현재 27조달러에서 2034년 51조달러까지 증가할 것으로 전망됐다．
