11일 업계에 따르면 조주완 사장은 이날 오후 서울 여의도 LG트윈타워에서 아몬 CEO를 만나 양사 협력 확대 방안을 논의한 것으로 알려졌다.이 자리에는 LG전자의 주요 임원들도 배석했다.

이들은 이날 온디바이스 AI 칩 등 AI 분야의 협업을 주요 안건으로 다뤘다는 후문이다.또 양사가 협력을 이어온 PC와 전장 등에서 AI 시너지 창출 방안도 함께 검토했을 가능성이 있다.

LG전자는 태블릿 PC에 퀄컴의 애플리케이션 프로세서(AP)인 '스냅드래곤 680'을 탑재한 바 있다.AP는 PC의 두뇌 역할을 하는 핵심 부품이다.

퀄컴은 LG전자의 전장 사업을 담당하는 VS사업본부에 차량용 텔레매틱스와 인포테인먼트용 칩을 공급하고 있다.
