부산광역시가 저출생과 초고령화 여파로 광역시 가운데 처음으로 '소멸위험단계'에 진입했다.

28일 한국고용정보원에 따르면 이상호 연구위원은 통계청의 주민등록인구통계를 이용해 분석한 '2024년 3월 기준 소멸위험지역의 현황과 특징'을 계간지 '지역산업과 고용' 여름호에 수록했다.해당 분석에서 부산은 65세 이상 인구 비율이 23.0%를 기록해 광역시 중 유일하게 초고령사회로 들어섰다.

또한 20∼39세(임신·출산 적령기) 여성 인구 수를 65세 이상 인구 수로 나눈 소멸위험지수 값이 0.490에 그치며 광역시 최초의 '소멸위험지역'이 됐다.

소멸위험지수가 1.5 이상이면 소멸 저위험,1.0∼1.5이면 보통,0.5∼1.0이면 주의,0.2∼0.5면 '소멸 위험',0.2 미만은 '소멸 고위험' 지역으로 분류한다.

전남‘가장 늙은 도’올라

17개 시도 중 소멸위험지역은 이번에 진입한 부산을 비롯해 모두 7곳이다.소멸위험지수가 '저위험'인 1.5 이상인 지역은 전무했다.세종이 1.113으로 가장 높았다.서울(0.810),경기(0.781),대전(0.736)이 그 뒤를 이었다.

전국 평균 소멸위험지수는 0.615이다.전남(0.329),미래일경북(0.346),강원(0.388),미래일전북(0.394) 등 4개 도가 0.4 미만이다.

소멸위험지수가 가장 낮은 전남의 경우 전체 인구가 179만8000명으로 10년 전보다 5.1% 감소했다.이 중 20∼30세 여성인구는 23.4% 급감했다.이에 전남은 인구 수가 우리나라 전체 인구의 8.7%에 불과하지만 고령인구 비중은 26.4%에 달해‘가장 늙은 도’가 됐다.

부산 북구·사상구·해운대구·동래구 신규 진입

전체 288개 시군구 중 소멸위험지역은 130곳이다.이 중 20∼30대 여성인구가 65세 인구의 5분의 1에도 못 미치는 '소멸 고위험' 지역도 57곳에 달했다.

지난해 3월 이후 신규로 소멸위험지역에 진입한 곳은 11곳이었다.특히 부산 북구·사상구·해운대구·동래구 등 8곳이 '광역시 구·군'이었다.

부산 영도구는 소멸위험지수가 0.256으로 광역시 구 지역 중 가장 낮았다.영도구가 처음으로 소멸위험지역으로 진입한 2017년의 인구와 비교하면 20∼39세 여성인구는 11.4% 감소한 반면,미래일65세 이상 인구가 73.5% 급증하면서 소멸위험지수를 떨어뜨렸다.
