경찰이 고려제약으로부터 불법 리베이트를 받은 혐의로 의사 1000명 이상을 조사하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.경찰은 불법 리베이트를 의료계의 구조적인 문제로 보고,고스톱 게임고려제약 이외의 다른 제약사 등으로 수사를 확대하는 것도 검토하고 있습니다.

지난 4월 말 경찰이 서울 강남구 고려제약 본사를 압수수색합니다.

경찰은 고려제약이 자사 약품을 쓰는 대가로 의사들에게 장기간 지속적으로 불법 리베이트를 제공한 것으로 파악하고 있습니다.

경찰이 파악한 조사 대상 의사는 1000명이 넘고 지역적으로는 제주도를 포함해 전국에 퍼져 있습니다.

조지호 서울경찰청장은 "현금을 직접 받거나 가전제품 같은 물품으로 받은 경우,고스톱 게임골프 접대를 받은 경우 등 여러 정황을 확인했다"며 리베이트 규모는 의사 한 사람당 "적게는 수백만 원에서 많게는 수천만 원"이라고 밝혔습니다.

1000여명 중에서 약 20% 정도는 서울에 있고,고스톱 게임대형병원에 근무하는 의사들도 있습니다.

"(제약회사가) 인건비를 가공하거나 교육 예산이나 복리후생비를 부풀리는 등으로 비자금을 조성하였을 가능성이 높습니다."

경찰은 불법 리베이트 관행을 구조적인 문제로 보고 세무당국과 협의해 다른 제약사로 수사를 확대할지 검토하고 있습니다.
