KBS가 제79주년 광복절인 15일 첫 방송으로 19세기 후반 일본을 배경으로 한 오페라 '나비부인'을 편성해 시청자 비판이 쏟아지고 있다.

KBS1은 이날 오전 0시부터 'KBS중계석'을 통해 대한민국 오페라 페스티벌 '나비부인'을 송출했다.올해 6월 예술의전당 무대에 올랐던 공연의 녹화본이다.

나비부인은 같은 제목의 장편소설을 원작으로 작곡한 지아코모 푸치니의 공연으로,19세기 말 일본 나가사키를 배경으로 한다.극 중 주인공의 결혼식 장면이 나오는데 배경음악으로 일본 국가인 기미가요가 연주되고 등장인물들은 기모노를 입는다.

방송 직후 KBS시청자 상담실에는 방송 편성에 항의하는 글 수천 개가 올라왔다.시청자들은 "기미가요가 나오는 오페라를 굳이 광복절에 튼 이유가 무엇이냐",오늘프로야구경기"(KBS가) Kㅣ시다(기시다 후미오 일본 총리) 브로드캐스팅인 줄 알았다",오늘프로야구경기"편성 경위를 해명해야 한다"는 등의 반응이었다.
