정부가 2025년 아시아태평양경제협력체,유벤투스 대 인테르APEC 정상회의를 경상북도 경주에서 개최하기로 최종 결정했습니다.

외교부는 'APEC 정상회의 준비위원회'가 오늘(27일) 열린 회의에서 경주시를 APEC 정상회의 개최도시로 의결했다고 밝혔습니다.

앞서 지난 20일 '개최도시 선정위원회'가 경주 개최를 건의한 것을 이번 회의에서 수용해 최종 결정한 것입니다.

회의에서는 또 다른 후보 도시인 인천광역시와 제주특별자치도가 유치를 위해 들인 노력을 최대한 활용하고자 APEC 정상회의 분야별 장관회의와 고위관리회의(SOM) 등을 분산 개최하는 방안도 의결됐습니다.

'2025 APEC 정상회의 준비기획단'은 조만간 관련 지자체들과 각종 회의 분산 개최를 위한 방안을 협의할 예정입니다.

준비위원회 위원장인 조태열 외교부 장관은 오늘 회의에서,유벤투스 대 인테르지자체와 협력 체계 구축을 포함한 준비 업무를 체계적으로 해나갈 것이라며 성공적 개최를 위한 범정부 차원의 협력을 당부했습니다.
