OCCS는 선박 운항 시 발생하는 이산화탄소를 포집 후 액화 저장해 배출을 방지하는 온실가스 대응기술이다.HMM 관계자는 "향후 국제해사기구(IMO) 등 국제기구로부터 탄소 감축 기술로 인정받을 가능성이 높아 선박 온실가스 저감에 유효한 수단이 될 것으로 전망된다"고 설명했다.HMM은 이번 기술 개발을 위해 지난해 4월 삼성중공업,원엑스벳 롤링한국선급,원엑스벳 롤링국내 친환경설비 전문기업 파나시아 등과 업무 협약을 맺었다.
