임성근 전 해병대 1사단장은 오늘(8일) "수사기관의 공식적 사실 확인을 기다리면서 지난 10개월가량을 견뎠다"며 "이번에 확인된 사실과 다른 허위 사실을 발표한 분들은 오는 20일까지 기존에 쓰신 글과 주장을 정정해달라"고 말했습니다.
경북경찰청이 '해병대원 사망사건' 수사 결과를 발표한 오늘 임 전 사단장은 취재진에게 이메일로 "기존의 글 취지와 내용이 제 명예를 훼손하는 경우 저에게 사과의 뜻을 개인적,도둑 포커공개적으로 표시할 것을 요청한다"며 이같이 밝혔습니다.
그는 "불완전,도둑 포커불충분하게나마 저와 군의 명예를 회복하는 데 도움이 되는 조치를 해달라"며 "그 조치 여부를 저에게 문자메시지,도둑 포커이메일을 통해 통지해달라.통지 결과를 토대로 허위 사실을 공개적으로 주장한 분들을 상대로 형사 및 민사 소송 등 권리구제 조치를 빠짐없이 취해 나가겠다"고 주장했습니다.
그러면서 "경찰 조사 결과는 그간 증거와 법리를 토대로 말씀드린 바와 사실상 거의 동일하다"며 "이에 더해 앞으로는 더 이상 허위 주장이 없기를 바란다"고 했습니다.
