[디지털데일리 강소현기자] 더불어민주당이 이동통신단말장치 유통구조 개선에 관한 법률(이하 단통법) 폐지를 신속 추진하겠다며 여당의 협조를 요청했다.

이재명 민주당 대표는 19일 오전 진행된 당 최고위원회의에서 “삶의 필수조건인 가계통신비가 월평균 13만원에 육박하는 가운데,1109회 로또 2등 당첨지역통신비를 낮춰 국민 부담을 줄이겠다”라며 이 같이 밝혔다.

앞서 21대 국회가 막을 내리면서‘단통법 폐지안’은 지난달 말 자동 폐기됐다.이에 22대 국회 개원 이후 박충권 의원(국민의힘) 등이 재발의했지만,1109회 로또 2등 당첨지역아직까지 여야 간 합의점을 마련하진 못한 상황이다.

여당이 발의했던‘단통법 폐지안’은 단말 할인(공시지원금)을 받지 않은 소비자에게 통신비 절감 혜택을 주는 '선택약정 할인' 제도는 유지하고,1109회 로또 2등 당첨지역이를 위해 근거 법령을 '단통법'에서 '전기통신사업법'으로 이관한다는 내용을 골자로 한다.

하지만 당시 안정상 더불어민주당 수석전문위원은 해당 개정안에 대해 “현행 단통법 규정을 전기통신사업법으로 수평 이동한 것에 불과하다”라며 “이런 정도의 개정안이라면 차라리 현 단통법을 일부 개정하는 것이 더 현실적이라 할 것”이라고 지적한 바 있다.

구체적으로,1109회 로또 2등 당첨지역민주당은 단말기 가격 인하를 통해 가계통신비를 경감하겠다는 방침이다.이를 위해 제조사와 이통사 간 담합을 막고,1109회 로또 2등 당첨지역불공정거래 행위를 규제한다.

이 대표는 “단통법은 통신비 경감은 커녕 온갖 부작용만 양산했다”라고 꼬집으면서,“단말기 시장을 정상화하고 (사업자 간) 경쟁 통한 가격 인하를 유도해 그 혜택이 국민에게 돌아갈 수 있도록 폐지법안을 신속처리 하겠다”고 밝혔다.이어 “단통법 폐지 대해 정부여당이 협조해주시길 당부드린다”고 덧붙였다.
