충남 천안시는 1987년 독립기념관 개관 이후 지속해서 개최해 오던 광복절 경축식이 취소됨에 따라 자체적으로 경축식을 열어 37년의 정통성을 유지·계승하기로 했습니다.

광복절인 내일(15일) 독립기념관에서 열리는 이번 경축식은 국권 회복을 위해 헌신한 순국선열과 애국지사들의 독립 정신을 계승하고 천안시민과 함께 광복의 의미를 되새기는 행사로 개최될 예정입니다.

순국선열과 호국 영령에 대한 묵념과 주제공연,mbc 다시보기광복절 노래 제창,mbc 다시보기만세삼창,mbc 다시보기특별기획전 및 전시관 관람 등으로 진행합니다.

천안은 유관순 열사,mbc 다시보기석오 이동녕 선생,mbc 다시보기조병옥 박사,이범석 장군 등 수많은 애국지사의 고향이자 충절의 도시로,mbc 다시보기광복절 경축식 취소에 따른 부정적 여론과 함께 경축식을 계속 열어야 한다는 여론에 따라 이같이 결정했다고 시는 밝혔습니다.
